Pedestrian Sabrina Duran Dies in Hit-and-run Crash on Grand Avenue in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. (Jan. 12, 2026) — Authorities have identified Sabrina Michelle Duran, a 55-year-old woman who used a wheelchair, died in hit-and-run pedestrian crash on North Grand Avenue in Santa Ana.

According to police, Duran, who was described as transient, was struck by a vehicle at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of North Grand Avenue. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators said Duran was crossing westbound on Grand Avenue when the collision occurred. The driver initially fled the scene but later returned and cooperated with authorities. No arrest was made at the scene.

Police said the case will be forwarded to prosecutors, who will determine whether criminal charges are warranted.
