Pedestrian Hit by SUV in Lancaster
LANCASTER, Calif. (July 29, 2024) – A woman crossing a Lancaster intersection was struck and killed Friday at Elm Avenue and Avenue J.
The Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection at around 8:09 p.m. on Friday, July 26th, according to MyNewsLA.
A man driving a Ford Flex SUV was apparently traveling eastbound on Avenue J when he struck the pedestrian. She was walking in a north to south direction on Avenue J, police said.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported the injured woman to Antelope Valley Hospital where she later died.
The cause of the crash and liability remains under investigation.
It’s unknown at this time whether speed was a factor in the crash.
Finally, witnesses are asked to contact traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff ‘s Station at 661-948-8466.
