Pedestrian, Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash
SUNNYVALE, Calif. (August 13, 2024) – Last night a pedestrian was struck and killed in a car accident on Highway 101 at Fair Oaks Avenue in Sunnyvale.
The deadly collision involved two vehicles and happened around 10:25 p.m. on August 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Chevrolet Malibu overturned on its roof and a driver in a black Toyota Camry had moderate left-side front damage after the collision. One of the vehicles also hit the pedestrian who went down in the fast lane of the highway.
Traffic in the area blocked all northbound lanes of Highway 101 at Mathilda Avenue. Also, all of the southbound lanes of Highway 101 were blocked at state Route 237, police said.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
