Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Crash on 5 Freeway in Anaheim
Two Vehicles Hit Pedestrian on Freeway Near Lincoln Avenue
ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 31, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim.
The traffic accident occurred around 2:03 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the I-5, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
A witness told investigators a driver in a white truck struck the pedestrian in middle lanes, CHP officials said.
Next, a driver in a black Honda Civic struck the pedestrian after they were already down in the roadway.
Police issued a SigAlert at 2:18 a.m. and closed down southbound lanes on the Santa Ana Freeway and the on-ramp at Euclid Street. Later, the far right lane reopened to traffic at 3:11 a.m. and all lanes were reopened around 7 a.m.
Authorities have not released the name or a description of the pedestrian.
Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian fatality on the 5 Freeway in Anaheim.
