Pedestrian Killed on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (July 30, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle today on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

The traffic accident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on July 30th, according to KTLA 5 News and the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the westbound I-10 freeway at the Fourth Street off ramp and located the victim down in the roadway, CHP officials reported.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene. However, the age, gender and name of the person were not released.

Police issued a SigAlert and closed down the freeway for more than three hours.

The Santa Monica Police Department is heading up the investigation into the fatal pedestrian accident on the 10 Freeway.
