Man Fatally Struck by Van
LANCASTER, California (July 17, 2016) – A pedestrian identified as Trinidad Jauregui, 64, of Lancaster, was killed in a hit-and-run collision Saturday night at Avenue I and 28th Street East, according to Los Angeles Daily News.
The crash took place about 9 p.m.
As per the article, a statement released by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office said Trinidad Jauregui had been walking southbound across Avenue I at 28th Street East when at the same time a vehicle was going east on Avenue I.
Jauregui was then was struck by the driver who did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
He was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he later died.
Witnesses described the suspect car as a gold or burgundy GMC van, similar to an Astro Van. It sustained damage to its front end, including a broken passenger side headlight, following the incident.
