Bakersfield Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on Union Avenue
BAKERSFIELD (April 17, 2017)
According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was fatally struck Monday evening at the location of 1180 South Union Avenue.
At roughly 8:57 p.m., the driver of a black vehicle struck a pedestrian causing fatal injuries to the victim as paramedics arrived at the scene after being notified.
Authorities indicated but could not confirm whether or not the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene or took off after hitting the victim. The vehicle which was initially said to have been a black 4-door sedan was tentatively changed to a black SUV sedan.
The victim who has not been identified was pronounced at the scene.
Both Bakersfield PD and California Highway Patrol will team up to investigate the collision. More details will soon be released.
