Man, Woman Killed in Canoga Park Collision Identified
CANOGA PARK Calif. (Jan. 9, 2024) — Pedro Montelongo of Los Angeles, 24, and Kimberley Ayala Rodriguez, 23, both died Saturday in a Canoga Park crash on Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
The victims were identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office.
Four others involved were treated for minor to major injuries
The deadly crash occurred at around 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 6th in the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Three vehicles collided at the intersection due to unknown circumstances. Pedro Montelongo and Kimberley Rodriguez became trapped in the wreckage and both of them died at the scene before they could be extricated.
Meanwhile, the two most seriously injured were transported by LAFD paramedics to a regional trauma center. Two other people sustained minor injuries and both of them declined an ambulance at the scene to take them to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division closed down at least one traffic lane at the intersection until the investigation was completed.
The fatal crash on Topanga Canyon Boulevard remains under investigation.
