Penelope Fetsch, 70, Seriously Injured in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash on Colusa Avenue
BERKELEY, CA (August 19, 2022) – Penelope Fetsch was seriously injured after a pedestrian crash on Colusa Avenue in Berkeley.
A loved one identified the 70-year-old woman as the victim of the collision which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Penelope Fetsch was walking on Colusa Avenue in North Berkeley. At the same time, a vehicle was going west on Solano Avenue.
Driver Hits Woman in Crosswalk
Police said the car then made a right turn onto Colusa. In the process, the driver struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The Berkeleyside wrote that the accident occurred on August 13 at about 7:15 p.m. Penelope Fetsch ended up with major injuries as a result of the pedestrian incident.
She sustained broken ribs, pelvis injuries, along with several cuts and abrasions. Paramedics rushed her to the Highland Hospital, where she stayed in the ICU for four days.
Meanwhile, police added that the motorist stopped at the scene after the collision. The cause of the Berkeley pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
