Penryn Tesla Hit-and-Run Crash Interstate 80 and Rock Springs Road

2 Injured in Penryn Hit-and-Run Crash on Eastbound Interstate 80 Near Rock Springs

PLACER COUNTY, CA (August 5, 2021) – Two were injured after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 80 in Penryn.

The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:55 p.m.

CHP said a white Tesla, a red Ford Mustang and a third vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Penryn. The three crashed on the eastbound Interstate 80 near Rock Springs Road.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found two people who complained of pain as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then treated the victim for the minor injuries they sustained in the incident. Officials did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Mustang did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers forced the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 80 to shut down following the wreck.

The cause of the Penryn hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
