PERRIS, California (February 5, 2017) – A major injury collision took place in the area of Nuevo and Murrieta roads on Sunday, according to Riverside County Fire Department. (map)
A statement released online by CalFire said the accident involving two vehicles was reported at 5:44 p.m. Police say a Dodge Magnum allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck head-on. The driver of a Dodge Magnum identified as Arnulfo Barba, 25, of Murrieta was arrested on felony DUI charges following the collision, according to the Press Enterprise.
As per the news release, extrication was required following the crash. A total of four people were hurt upon impact.
One victim was seriously injured while another suffered injuries described as moderate. The two other patients survived with minor wounds.
All four parties were taken via ground ambulance to area hospitals for further treatment. Their names and condition at this time were not immediately disclosed.
