PERRIS, California (March 7, 2016) — Phillip Galvez, 80, and Nieves Nesu Martin-Galvez, 76, were both killed in a solo-vehicle rollover crash Saturday afternoon on the southbound Interstate 215 Freeway at 4th Street, according to reports by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner and the Riverside County Fire Department.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters say the car struck a light pole as it overturned after its driver lost control on the freeway.
Paramedics and police were at the scene attempting to help the elderly Menifee couple, but they died of their injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
