1 Killed in Perris Crash on Southbound 215 Freeway Near D Street
PERRIS, CA (May 28, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on the 215 Freeway near D Street in Perris.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident occurred late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:11 p.m.
Their report log said three vehicles collided on the southbound 215 Freeway in Perris. They described the cars involved as a red Nissan 350Z, a red Ford and an SUV.
Racing Factor in Car Collision
Witnesses told CHP that two vehicles were racing prior to the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near D Street.
Medical personnel confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased individual remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that a driver involved in the race apparently fled the area. Officials forced the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway to shut down following the wreck.
The fatal Perris crash is still under investigation.
