2 Injured in Crash Near Lake Matthews

PERRIS, California (July 14, 2016) — A white construction truck and a car collided Thursday morning in a head-on crash at La Sierra Avenue and Cajalco Road near Lake Matthews, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The crash took place about 8:01 a.m. this morning. The white 1999 GMC pickup truck overturned onto its roof in a crash with a red 2012 Hyundai Elantra 4-door sedan.

Paramedics with the Riverside County Fire Department and CHP officers responded to help those involved and police will investigate what led to the crash. Paramedics airlifted one person and transported the other by ambulance to local hospitals, the Riverside County Fire Department reported.

Police closed down La Sierra Avenue for two hours to clean up the debris including paint that spilled from a vehicle and remove vehicles involved in the crash. The two involved vehicles were stored for evidence.
