At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Escondido (215) Freeway Wednesday
Perris, CA (September 8, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 215, also known as Escondido Freeway, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Officials said at least two vehicles collided on the northbound lanes of the freeway at Nuevo Road in Perris. Per CHP log, the incident involved a black sedan. However, the make and model of the other car remained unknown.
Shortly after 5:41 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the location. Responding medical personnel immediately rendered aid to all possible victims. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the injured party and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

The CHP dispatch later confirmed a motorist involved in the mishap fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to work at this time to identify and locate the suspect.
