Car vs. Truck Accident on Escondido Freeway Friday
Perris, CA (January 18, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 215, also known as Escondido Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, an Audi sedan collided with a semi truck on the southbound lanes of I-215 near the Harley Knox Boulevard offramp. Additional details on the description of the vehicles involved in the wreck have not been discussed thus far.
Earlier reports indicated the sedan rolled over several times before landing on its roof. Shortly after 12:39 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site and found parties trapped in the overturned Audi. Firefighters worked extensively to free the victims.
After successfully extricating the occupants of the Audi, paramedics examined their conditions. Officials later confirmed one person sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

The truck driver apparently failed to pull over after the following the incident. At this time, detectives continue to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
