Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Crash in Perris
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (August 17, 2022) — A Perris hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Orange Avenue and Redlands Avenue took place Monday night in Riverside County.
The crash occurred about 6:52 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies from the Perris Station responded to the intersection where they located a man laying in the roadway suffering from major injuries.
Paramedics transported the man by ambulance to Riverside University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Riverside Pedestrian Accident
Authorities determined the man was walking westbound on Orange Avenue before attempting to cross at the intersection at Redlands Avenue. Meanwhile, a driver in a grey sedan heading northbound on Redlands Avenue hit him. The motorist failed to stop and fled from the scene.
Meanwhile, several people who witnessed the crash stopped to help the injured man and called 911 for help.
