Motorcyclist Injured in Perris Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 74 Near Ellis
PERRIS, CA (November 5, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 74 near Ellis Avenue in Perris.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Friday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 2:53 p.m.
The incident happened when the motorcycle rider and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Perris. The two crashed on westbound side of Highway 74, just east of Ellis Avenue.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist unconscious on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid to the rider and soon fled the area. The cause of the Perris hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of Highway 74 to shut down near Ellis following the wreck.
