Perry Burden, 35, Victim in Fatal Crash on Highway 4 Near Tracy Boulevard
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (April 24, 2021) – Perry Burden died after a DUI a crash along Highway 4 in San Joaquin County last year.
The District Attorney’s Office said the 35-year-old man and his 12-year-old child were victims of the fatal wreck on February 14, 2020.
The incident happened when Perry Douglas Burden was driving an SUV east on Highway 4 near Tracy Boulevard. At the same time, Mauricio Solorio Garcia was operating a semi-truck west.
Deputies affirmed that the 54-year-old man crossed over double yellow lines. In the process, the tractor-trailer carrying construction materials slammed head-on into the SUV.

Firefighters along with the paramedics pronounced Perry Burden dead at the scene. An air ambulance took his son, who was then 11 years old, to the San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The big rig also sideswiped a minivan carrying family members of Burden, including three young children. Several of them ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Authorities determined that Garcia was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
Meanwhile, Record Net wrote that investigation found the suspect guilty of second-degree murder. Garcia will be sentenced on May 28 and is facing 15 years to life.
