Douglas Green, 70, Arrested on DUI Charges
PETALUMA, Calif. (August 9, 2023) — Douglas Green, 70, of Petaluma, was arrested on DUI charges after a two-vehicle crash Monday night at Stony Point Road and Petaluma Boulevard North.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 7th in Sonoma County, according to CBS News.
Petaluma Police Department officers responded to the collision at the intersection. They located the drivers of two vehicles including Douglas Green.
2-Vehicle, Head-on Crash Stony Point Road
Investigators also determined that Douglas Green was driving westbound on Petaluma Boulevard North before attempting to make a right turn onto northbound Stony Point Road. His vehicle reportedly turned too wide and crashed head-on into the second motorist.
The second driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Meanwhile, police began to investigate the crash and determined that Douglas Green was allegedly driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI. They also noted he was showing signs of intoxication and determined he was DUI.
Authorities arrested the driver for DUI and driving on a suspended license and booked him into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
The crash on Stony Point Road remains under investigation.
