2 Bicyclists Injured in Petaluma DUI Crash on Bodega Avenue Friday
PETALUMA (April 13, 2019) – Two bicyclists were hospitalized after an alleged DUI crash along Bodega Avenue Friday morning.
According to The Press Democrat, the accident took place on April 12 at around 7:30 a.m., west of Pepper Road.
California Highway Patrol said 28-year-old Benjamin Braunstein was driving a 2014 Ford Focus west on Bodega Avenue when he veered right and struck two bicyclists riding on the right shoulder.

Paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the two riders who suffered moderate to minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Both cyclists were immediately taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. Their names and condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed Braunstein was under the influence of drugs when the wreck occurred. The Santa Rosa man was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI.
