1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on Tomales Petaluma Road
PETALUMA, CA (March 4, 2022) – A head-on crash killed one person and injured another on Tomales Petaluma Road west of Petaluma.
According to an article published by The Press Democrat, the tragic accident took place late Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:50 a.m.
The incident happened when a Dodge truck hauling a 25-foot travel trailer west on Tomales Petaluma Road. At the same time, a motorcyclist was traveling east at an unsafe speed.
The California Highway Patrol said the rider lost control of the his BMW motorcycle. He then crossed into the opposite lane and slammed head-on into the Dodge near Alexander Road.
Motorcycle and Truck Collide
In the process, the motorcyclist ended up ejected from his bike. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
A passenger of the truck sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took the victim to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge survived the wreck unharmed.
CHP forced a stretch of Tomales Petaluma Road to shut down for a time following the incident. The fatal crash is still under investigation.
