PETALUMA (October 11, 2016)- According to the Petaluma Police Department, Luis Alberto Picon-Estrada, 42, has been identified as the victim fatally struck in an auto versus pedestrian collision Saturday evening, October 8th.
The collision was reported at 10:55 p.m. when the driver of a Mercedes identified as Scott Compton, 44, struck Picon-Estrada as he crossed Washington Street.
Mr. Picon Estrada was rushed to Petaluma Valley Hospital, where he tragically did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Petaluma police determined that Mr. Compton had been under the influence as he was subsequently arrested at the scene and taken to jail. His bail has been set at $25,000.
