Driver Ramirez, Arrested
PETALUMA, Sonoma County (August 14th, 2016) – 20-year-old Miriam Martinez died following a crash on Skillman Lane, according to an article by Press Democrat.
The accident happened on August 13, Saturday at about 10:30 a.m.
In detail, the article mentioned a black 2013 Honda Civic or Accord was traveling on the roadway when it suddenly lost control and crashed on the sidewalk. The collision resulted in passenger Martinez pierced by the metal pole that ran through the car. Responding paramedics rescued and airlifted Martinez to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Later, the victim succumbed to its injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Further, the Honda driver was not found at the site during the rescue. Authorities believed the driver evaded, concluding in a hit-and-run suspect search operation. Alan Arturo Tapia Ramirez, 20 was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in bodily injury and felony hit-and-run involving injury or death. The relation of the fatality and the suspect was not immediately clear.
