Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Olive Drive
Bakersfield, CA (May 30, 2023) – Pete Castaneda, a 60-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Olive Drive May 14, Sunday.
The KGET and Bakersfield.com News reported a vehicle struck an adult man on Olive Drive just east of State Road in Bakersfield. Our sources indicated the pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk when an eastbound 2016 Toyota hit him.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
Emergency crews later responded to the accident scene. When paramedics arrived, they immediately rendered aid to the injured pedestrian. Medical personnel performed life-saving efforts to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Kern County Coroner’s office identified the deceased as Pete Castaneda, of Bakersfield.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to investigate liability in the deadly accident that happened on Olive Drive in Bakersfield.
