Man in Wheelchair Struck, Killed in North Hollywood
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) – Peter Arata, 56, of Los Angeles, died after being hit by a motorist while crossing Lankershim Boulevard in his wheelchair in North Hollywood.
The traffic accident occurred around 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22nd in front of 7843 Lankershim Boulevard at Strathern Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood
Division.
Police responded to the crash scene and located the injured motorist in the roadway.
Investigators are working to determine liability for the collision. The preliminary results of the investigation reveal the motorist was traveling southbound on Lankershim Boulevard when they hit the man crossing the street, the LAPD said.
Sadly, Peter Arata was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
