Driver Struck and Killed Skateboarder in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 8, 2024) – Peter Bryan Duran Morquecho, 23, of Anaheim, died in a car accident while riding a skateboard on Main Street near 15th Street in Santa Ana.
The young man was riding a skateboard southbound along the western curb of Main Street, according to MyNewsLA.
Meanwhile, a driver was also headed southbound on Main Street and struck the victim near 15th Street at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7th, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The skateboarder suffered major injuries and went down in the roadway. He was unconscious when paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority transported him to a hospital where he later died.
The driver involved stopped and cooperated with investigators. However, police do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were contributing factors.
The Orange County Sheriff Coroner later identified him as Peter Morquecho.
