Peter Ratcliffe Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 16, 2026) — Peter Turner Ratcliffe, 19, of San Diego, died early Monday in a motorcycle accident on Carroll Canyon Road in San Diego, California.

The 19-year-old motorcyclist died following the collision around 2:30 a.m. on June 15th in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego.

He was reportedly traveling eastbound when the bike crashed into the back of a vehicle between Interstate 15 and Scripps Ranch Boulevard.

The other driver allegedly fled the scene following the collision, San Diego police said. A passerby who came upon the crash scene called 911 for police and paramedics, but the young man died before help could arrive. He was later identified as Peter Turner Ratcliffe by the San Diego Medical Examiner.

It’s unknown what circumstances led up to the collision and there was no description of the second vehicle released by authorities.

Detectives are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run.
