PHELAN, California (March 16, 2016) — At least one person has died in a crash between an SUV, a car and a semi-tractor trailer truck Wednesday morning on the State Route Highway 138, just west of the southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 6:20 a.m. when the three vehicles collided and one of them overturned. The vehicles involved included a Chevrolet GEO and a silver Nissan Pathfinder. The Los Angeles County Coroner responded to the scene. Caltrans was also sent to clean up roughly 100 gallons of fuel that spilled in the roadway.
The report did not indicate how many people were hurt, but at least one person died at the scene of the crash.
A police investigation into liability for the crash is taking place now and a report will eventually be released with their findings of liability.
