TUSTIN, California — According to an article by OC Register, a semi-involved crash on Interstate 55 (Costa Mesa) freeway sent three parties to a hospital on February 18.
At about 3:25 a.m., a car driven by a 26-year-old Tustin man crashed into the rear of a USPS semi which was stopped on a right-hand lane from an earlier collision.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and affirmed the car driver suffered major trauma. While his 25-year-old female passenger, and 45-year-old semi truck driver Phillip Robeniol Blas both sustained minor injuries.
All three parties were transported to hospitals for proper treatment.
Authorities continue to investigate why and how the smaller vehicle crashed into the semi.
