Man Killed in Pico-Union Hit-and-Run at Vermont Avenue and Pico Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 8, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian at Vermont Avenue and Pico Boulevard in the Pico-Union area.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the collision at about 10:10 p.m.
The incident happened on May 5 when a white sedan struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles. The car was going south on Vermont Avenue at the time.
The car hit him at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Pico Boulevard. The impact then threw the man into the street, where a Metro bus hit him.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon found the victim left lying on the ground. He died at the scene of the incident.
The name of the deceased man has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the sedan did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.
The 41-year-old bus operator stopped and stayed at the site. Officers forced the corner of Vermont Avenue and Pico Boulevard to shut down for a time following the accident.
