2 Injured in Pittsburg Car Crash on Highway 4 Wednesday
PITTSBURG (July 18, 2018) – Two were hospitalized after a traffic collision along Highway 4 on Wednesday afternoon, according to The Mercury News.
The accident involving five vehicles occurred at around 12:30 p.m. about midway between the Railroad Avenue and Bailey Road exits.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said for unknown reasons a Nissan, a Lexus, a Jeep, a Kia and an Infiniti collided in the westbound lanes of Highway 4.

An initial report indicated that the crash started when the Nissan apparently clipped another car, and then crashed into the other vehicles involved.
Paramedics responded to the scene and attended to a man in the Jeep and a woman in the Infiniti who were hurt as a result of the wreck. The two patients were then transported by ground ambulances to be treated for minor injuries.
The names of the victims were not immediately released. Meanwhile, CHP believed that speed was a factor in the incident which is still under investigation.

Based on the news reports, one of the drivers involved is accused of traveling at a high rate of speed and allegedly causing the collision on a major road.
