PITTSBURG (July 29, 2016)- According to the East Bay Times, a woman was killed and three others were injured following a car accident Wednesday at the intersection of Leland Road and Harbor Street.
Police officials disclosed that the driver of a Chevy truck blew through a red light and slammed into a Honda van and a Toyota sedan.
The driver of the van identified as Venius Lawson, 69, of Pittsburg, was coherent and complaining of pain at the scene. She was quickly rushed to a hospital where she tragically died approximately three hours later from internal bleeding.
Another motorist who was not identified sustained a serious injury to their leg and remains hospitalized.
Two others suffered minor injuries following the collision.
Authorities have ruled out the possibility of drugs or alcohol playing a contributing role in this incident.
