PLACENTIA, California (February 2, 2017) — A motorcyclist identified as Nicholas Truex, 28, of Placentia died Wednesday evening when a pickup truck made a left-hand turn in front of the bike at Murray Street and Chapman Avenue, according to a report by the Placentia Police Department.
The crash took place about 5:40 p.m. last night. The motorcycle rider was traveling eastbound on Murry Street when a driver in a pickup truck who was on Chapman Avenue, turned onto Murray Street and was struck by the bike. The rider, who is believed to be in his 30s, died of his injuries at the scene of the collision. The 57-year-old Placentia man who was driving the truck, suffered minor injuries and stopped to provide assistance.
The Placentia Police Department and paramedics responded to the scene of the crash to help the people involved. An investigation into the crash is underway, but preliminary results indicate that alcohol was not a factor.
