Big Rig Truck, Car Collide on I-80 Freeway in Placer County
PLACER COUNTY, Calif. (July 8, 2021) — A Placer County crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway involved a semi-truck collided and car Thursday afternoon in the Magra area.
Additionally, the collision happened about 1:09 p.m. on July 8th at Secret Town Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Also, the CHP reports the big rig truck hauling large pieces of steel struck the Chevrolet Equinox and pushed it off the road. The car went down an embankment and onto Magra and Secret Town roads, police said.
The semi-truck continued driving a short distance, but eventually stopped on the freeway.
The driver in the Chevrolet suffered unknown injuries. Paramedics transported the person to a hospital. The driver also had two dogs that were in the vehicle. The CHP report does not mention the names of the two drivers involved in the Placer County crash on Interstate 80.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the cause of the crash and liability will be determined by CHP traffic officers.
