1 Killed, 4 Injured in Placer County Crash on Foresthill Road and Portofino Drive
PLACER COUNTY, CA (July 12, 2022) – A crash killed one person and badly injured several others near Foresthill Road and Portofino Drive in Placer County.
According to The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3 p.m.
The incident happened when a green Toyota Corolla was going west on Foresthill Road near Portofino Drive in Placer County. At the same time, a blue Acura MBX was traveling east.
For an unknown reason, the two cars then collided head-on. The California Highway Patrol said the vehicles crashed just west of Drivers Flat Road between Auburn and the Foresthill community.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced the 43-year-old Foresthill man driving the Toyota dead at the scene.
The female driver of the Acura and her three children sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced Foresthill Road to shut down in both directions for more than three hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Placer County crash is still under investigation.
