At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Collision on Dwight Eisenhower Highway Monday
Placer County, CA (March 14, 2022) – A traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 80 Monday afternoon resulted in injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Tanker Truck Rolls Down Embankment along Interstate 80 in Placer County
Earlier reports indicated a tanker truck loaded with propane drifted off the roadway for an unknown reason. The tanker truck ended up driving down the embankment; in the area along the westbound side of the I-80, also known as Dwight Eisenhower Highway.
Shortly after 2:25 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found several other vehicles stopped near the crash site. At this time, it remained unclear if the motorist played a role in the accident or only pulled over to help.
The CHP log confirmed at least one person sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. However, personal information on the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue to investigate at this time exactly how and why the rollover crash happened on Interstate 80 in Placer County.
