Rider Injured in Collision Near Sanders Drive
Placerville, CA (October 29, 2022) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Pony Express Trail.
According to Mountain Democrat News a male party, believed to be a Pollock Pines resident, was riding a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle heading west on Pony Express Trail.
Earlier reports indicated the accident happened when an eastbound 2002 Ford Explorer slowed down in preparation to make a left turn onto Sanders Drive. Officials said the motorcycle collided with the Ford. The force from the impact resulted in front-end damage to the Ford.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the rider found lying in the roadway. The article published online mentioned a helicopter airlifted the patient to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the crash happened on Pony Express Trail in Placerville.
