Vehicle Submerged in Canal after Collision
PLANDA, Calif. (August 8, 2023) — A car crashed into a canal after a two-vehicle Planda car accident on Tuesday morning at Childs Avenue and Whealan Road.
The collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on August 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
A driver in a pickup truck collided with a Honda sedan due to unknown circumstances. One of the vehicles veered off the roadway and landed on its roof in a nearby canal. One person from the vehicle managed to exit the vehicle, but a second person required rescue from a dive team.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person with injuries, but there are no specific details.
Both vehicles were towed from the intersection.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
