PLEASANT HILL, California (August 4, 2016) — A motorist struck a stalled car Thursday morning on the northbound Interstate 680 Freeway at the Monument Boulevard on ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes about 3:42 a.m. this morning. One person was trapped in a vehicle and required rescue by firefighters who temporarily shut down the entire freeway and issued a SigAlert. Paramedics were on the scene with an ambulance, but it’s unclear from the report whether anyone was hospitalized.
One of the vehicles was a Yaris and the other was not described.
Police are investigating the crash and will determine liability.
