Driver Killed in Collision Near Alcosta Boulevard Friday
Pleasanton, CA (November 5, 2021) – One person died following a traffic crash that occurred on Interstate 680 early Friday, the CBS San Francisco News reported.
Our sources indicated a man was driving a Honda Civic heading south on the freeway at approximately 5:50 a.m. When the motorist approached the area near Alcosta Boulevard, the Honda sideswiped a big rig traveling in the same direction.
The force from the impact caused the driver of the Honda to lose control of the car. As a result, the sedan crossed all lanes of traffic.
Authorities said the Honda slammed into the center dividing wall of Interstate 680. According to the article published online, a passing Ford F-150 pickup hit the disabled Honda. The second collision caused the Honda to flip sideways in the far left lane of the freeway.

When medical personnel arrived at the site, they found the driver of the Honda unconscious. Despite life-saving measures, the man succumbed to his injuries and died. Police continue to withhold the name of the fatal victim pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Officials mentioned the driver of the big rig kept going; possibly because they were unaware of the sideswipe collision.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine several factors surrounding the fatal car crash on Interstate 680 in Pleasanton.
