Deadly Crash on I-680 Freeway Involving Big Rig Truck
PLEASANTON, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2021) — A Pleasanton fatal crash on the Interstate 680 Freeway between a big rig truck, a Honda and a pickup truck.
A driver in a silver Honda Civic reportedly sideswiped a big rig truck in the slow lane and the car driver lost control and crossed over several lanes before being struck by an oncoming pickup truck. The Honda wound up sideways in the far left lane after it struck the center divider wall.
The chain-reaction collision resulted in the death of the driver in the Honda at the scene, the California Highway Patrol said. The victim’s name, age and gender is unknown at this time.
Pleasanton Crash Interstate 680 Freeway
The multi-vehicle Pleasanton crash happened about 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 5th on the southbound Interstate 680 Freeway near the Interstate 580 interchange, the CHP said.
Three freeway lanes became blocked by the collision. Authorities issued a Sig Alert due to major traffic.
Investigators will determine liability for the crash.
