Distracted Driving Awareness Month is every April, however, this is a year-round campaign because there’s no specific timeline for distracted driving.

What is the Don’t Drive Distracted/Eyes Forward Campaign?
The idea is to remind drivers about the serious consequences of taking their attention away from the road. With your help, we can reduce distractions and save lives. By pledging to drive safely and keep your eyes focused on the road, you commit to being a responsible driver.
Why Is Distracted Driving Dangerous?
Distracted driving takes many forms, including texting, talking on the phone, adjusting the radio, eating, putting on makeup, or even talking to passengers. Any activity that takes your eyes off the road, your hands off the wheel, or your mind off driving can lead to disastrous consequences.
- Distracted driving leads to accidents. Nearly 1 in 5 crashes are caused by distracted driving, resulting in injuries and fatalities.
- The risk is real. Drivers who use their phones while driving are four times more likely to be involved in a crash.
- The future is in your hands. By making the pledge to never drive distracted, you can help make a difference.
