1 Killed in Pollock Pines Car Crash on Pony Express Trail
POLLOCK PINES, CA (May 16, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident early Saturday, May 15. According to their dispatch, officers reported the tragic wreck at about 12:35 a.m.
A total of five vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Pollock Pines. They crashed at 6207 Pony Express Trail between Manzanita Street and Cox Street.
Several Vehicles Collide Near Manzanita and Cox
CHP said one of the cars involved slammed into a tree nearby. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the El Dorado County Library.
Medical personnel then confirmed that one person died a result of the collision. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other party sustained injuries upon impact. Officials forced Pony Express Trail to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Pollock Pines crash is still under investigation.
