Pedestrian Killed in Pomona Crash on South Towne Avenue
POMONA, CA (May 29, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash on Towne Avenue in the city of Pomona.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Sunday night. Officers reported the collision at about 8:28 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Pomona. The driver hit him in the 1600 block of South Towne Avenue.
Man Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the man lying unresponsive on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to a hospital where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man. Officers forced a stretch of Towne Avenue to shut down for a time following the incident.
The cause of the fatal Pomona pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
