1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Porterville Crash at Plano Street and Highway 190
PORTERVILLE, CA (March 30, 2022) – A car crash killed one person and badly injured another at Plano Street and Highway 190 in Porterville.
According to the FOX 46 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck on March 29 at around 7:20 p.m.
The incident began when a 65-year-old man was going south on Plano Street, approaching Highway 190, in Porterville. At the same time, another vehicle was traveling west on Highway 190.
For an unknown reason, the man ran a red light at the intersection. Police said in the process. he slammed into the other car.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the 65-year-old driver to a hospital where he died. A passenger in one of the vehicles involved sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police forced the area of Plano Street and Highway 190 to shut down for hours following the wreck. Both cars obtained major damage after the incident.
