1 Killed in Porterville Crash Near Highway 65 and Scranton Avenue
PORTERVILLE, CA (November 6, 2021) – A crash killed at least one person near Highway 65 and Scranton Avenue in Porterville.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident took place on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:36 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Porterville. They crashed on northbound Highway 65 near Scranton Avenue and Tea Pot Dome Avenue.
2 Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the vehicles as a black colored truck and a van. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and extricated two trapped occupants from the wreckage.
Medical personnel confirmed that one victim died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The report did not mention if the other rescued patient sustained injuries following the wreck Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 65 to shut down in both directions after the incident.
The cause of the fatal Porterville crash is still under investigation.
