Pedestrian Injured in Porterville Hit-and-Run Near Olive Avenue and 2nd Street
PORTERVILLE, CA (May 11, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Olive Avenue and 2nd Street in Porterville.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 2:06 p.m.
According to CHP, a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person near the intersection of East Olive Avenue and North 2nd Street in Porterville.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the South County Justice Center. They found the victim left hurt in the roadway as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection to close following the accident.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The cause of the Porterville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
