Scooter Rider Seriously Injured in Porterville Hit-and-Run Crash on Route 137
PORTERVILLE, CA (February 18, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a scooter rider on Route 137 near Road 96 in Porterville.
Your Central Valley published the accident late Friday night. The incident happened when a woman was riding a motorized scooter on Route 137 in Porterville.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck her west of Road 96. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Driver Hits Woman, Flees Scene
They found the scooter rider who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took her to a hospital for treatment.
The name of the wounded patient and her condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled towards Tulare.
The motorist soon called the officers and turned themselves in. Officers forced a stretch of Route 137 to shut down near Road 96 following the incident.
The cause of the Porterville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
