Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Poway Crash on Kirkham Road
POWAY, CA (October 27, 2022) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash on Kirkham Road in Poway.
According to the FOX 5 News and ABC 10 News, the accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 8 a.m.
The incident happened when a 62-year-old man was riding a bicycle along Kirkham Road near Community Road in Poway. At the same time, a vehicle was going east.

The sheriff’s department said the driver then struck the bicyclist in the 12100 block of the roadway. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the victim who sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the cyclist to the Palomar Medical Center – Escondido for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, deputies believed that the sun impaired the vision of the motorist when the accident occurred.
Officers forced a stretch of Kirkham Road to shut down following the incident. The cause of the Poway bicycle crash is still under investigation.
